St. Lucia is not the cheapest destination in the Caribbean. It has only recently become popular on a large scale for tourism, and as such, many of its resorts are of the luxury kind, reserved for the rich. Timing is all important when visiting St. Lucia. The peak season, and
with it the highest prices, runs from December to April. This is due to
people from colder climates rushing to the Caribbean dry season.
However, the really wet tropical season does not begin until much later,
and for May and usually June you are still guaranteed dry weather.
Visiting St. Lucia during these month means you will quite likely get a cheaper rate, and therefore, maybe a better hotel than you would otherwise have picked.
You will also beat the rush, and may well get to enjoy the gorgeous beaches in relative seclusion!

With so many huge resorts among the St. Lucia hotels, it is easy to
forget that there are other places to stay on the island. In particular
worth checking out are the island’s small guesthouses. These offer
individuality of service and the little personal touch. Two such
guesthouses are the Seahorse Inn and the Mirage Hotel, with 8 and 5
rooms apiece respectively. These charming little St. Lucia hotels may
not have all the luxury of one of the big resorts, but they are all well
appointed and comfortable and often provide gorgeous views – one thing
that money can’t buy.
As with many other Caribbean islands, St. Lucia has plenty of all inclusive resorts that can save money for families or couples on a shoestring budget. These typically offer all food and drink included in one payment along with accommodation. This allows you a much greater degree of control over the cost of your holiday.
Although many St. Lucia
hotels offering all inclusive packages are quite expensive luxury
resorts, the number aiming at mid range family holidays is going up
every day, and you are sure to be able to find something to suit your
tastes on this gorgeous Caribbean island.
