If you have never considered St. Lucia to be a place you'd like to see, you should reconsider. I have been to many places in my life, certainly more than some, so the thought of another Caribbean island, while enticing, was not what I had planned for my 2008 family vacation or so I thought until my husband began researching.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The more information he shared with me, the more appealing the island became and for someone who has already been to Tahiti and Moorea, that says something. The thing that sealed the deal for me was the Coconut Bay Resort, which focused heavily on family, including children as guests.

 

 

 

With a 5 year old son at the time, the family lure was very important to us, so we booked it!

 

Since my husband's love of island life runs deep through his geographically, mid-Western raised blood, he was already excited about the trip. While my enthusiasm did not equate with research and the myriad of pictures available on the web, my lackluster enthusiasm soon turned to pure excitement at the thought of visiting this Western Caribbean island.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Luckily, our son seems to have caught the travel bug from us both and is therefore a joy to vacation with; he simply could not wait to get on the plane.

 

 

Once there we enjoyed ourselves immensely! Coconut Bay Resort was wonderful; it met all of our expectations and then some. The staff was wonderful, accommodations were lovely, and the extras just topped the cake. As an all inclusive resort, you worry about little extra expense than your excursions.
